FRESHPAK FITNESS FESTIVAL 2011

The Freshpak Fitness Festival is Cape Town's biggest multisport festival and is traditionally seen as the event that kicks off the triathlon season in the Western Cape. Over 800 athletes flock to the small town of Clanwilliam to take part in the wide variety of events on offer. It's a festive atmosphere at the Clanwilliam dam where many of the athletes camp for the weekend adding to the festive mood of the event.

ENTERING THE EVENTS:

Online entries: will open on www.entrytime.co.za on 15 June 2011. Online entries will close on 23 September 2011.

Enter at the event: you will be able to enter on the day of the event up until one hour before the start of each event.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Abbridged race rules: Triathlon South Africa race rules apply to triathlon and duathlon events. For more information on race rules and distances click here.
Traffic control: Please obey the directions and instructions of the traffic officers. Their role and your co-operation is vital for safety in the event.
Safety and first aid: An ambulance will be in attendance along the cycle and run routes and a medic will be available at the first aid tent. Lifesavers will be in attendance on the water during the swim events and stages.
Prize giving: Saturday morning events (Long Swim, Fit Kids and Run for Fun) will have a prize giving at 12:30. Afternoon events (triathlon, biathlon, duathlon) will have a prize giving at 19:00. Total prize value exceeds R18 000.00
Post race function: will take place in the marquee tent after the prize giving function.
Race t-shirts: will be allocated to the first 300 entrants online.
Goodie bags: will be allocated to the first 800 entrants across all events.
Food stalls: will be available at the race venue with a variety of foods on offer. There are braai facilities for campers.
Club gazebos: clubs will be able to erect gazebos in designated areas only.
Accommodation: Clanwilliam Information office - 027 482 2024.  Clanwilliam Dam - 027 482 8012.
Restricted exit/entry: No vehicles and boats will be allowed to enter or exit the resort between 13h00 and 18h00 while the main afternoon races are in progress.
